Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Review – Pros & cons
Pros
The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is, as its name implies, arc-shaped during normal use. To turn it off, simply straighten the arc; the power indicator will go off and you can then place the now-flat device into your laptop bag or even your pocket without it bulging unnaturally. This unique and cool minimalist design has received praises from satisfied customers, and this mouse is definitely a top contender if you are concerned about portability.
The BlueTrack technology in this wireless mouse allows for precise tracking on almost any surface. Customers have reported accurate tracking on surfaces as varied as blankets, pants, couches and even glass, although Microsoft has claimed that it will not work on clear glass.
The scroll “wheel” is actually a touch sensor strip with a vibrating feedback. You can slide or flick quickly up and down the strip with your finger to scroll, or tap the top and bottom of the strip respectively to simulate PageUp and PageDown functions on your keyboard. It also acts as a middle button which you activate by double-tapping. These can all be remapped and customized to your liking.
Plenty of people have found the Microsoft Arc to be more than adequate for their needs. The following are snippets of Amazon.com testimonials from just 2 such people:
“…I am in love with the Arc mouses touch wheel, it makes scrolling much easier and also has page up and down functionality…(continued)”
“…Amazingly solid feel, for something that folds. It supports the full weight of my arm when resting on the table…(continued)”

Cons
One common complaint is that the buttons feel a little stiff. Due to the design of the buttons, several customers report that the clicking seems to require a little bit more force than other mice. Clicking at the edge of the buttons appears to be more responsive.
In addition, the device will take a little getting used to, due to its unique design with no sides, as well as the straightening of the mouse to turn it off. This is to be expected considering the radically different design, and it doesn’t take long for most people to get used to these quirks.
“…I instantly fell in love with it. It has great range feels great, and is just simply cool.. Buttons feel good. A little different than a regular mouse but easy to get used to…(continued)”
Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse Review – The Bottomline
The Microsoft Arc Touch Mouse is sure to receive admiration or at least become a topic of conversation among your office coworkers, or anyone who sees you with one. Its easy portability is no doubt its biggest innovation and main attraction, but its usability is most assuredly more than adequate.
